Access Statement

Our access statement is provided as a help to those who may have some disability or families with young children. Whilst we have given consideration to all who may visit our country cottage, we were restricted in certain aspect of the access by the constraints of the terrain on which the property was originally built.

Below, we have given some detail which may assist those giving consideration to visiting us.

Our Snowdonia holiday cottage is approximately a one hour drive from the nearest mainline train station in the city of Chester or, in the opposite direction, a 40 minute drive will get you to the station in the market town of Machynlleth.

There are Local Buses from Wrexham, Dolgellau to Rhydymain. However, we must point out that without your own transport you are very limited as to how far you would be able to explore this beautiful part of the Snowdonia National Park.

Beuby Penarddwnion Fawr is located off a minor road. There is a gravelled drive leading into large gravelled area, which in places is uneven, there is plenty of space for parking and turning around.

There is one 7 cm high stone step to main entrance, and the width of the main entrance being 100 cm.

Assistance with carrying baggage and settling in is available.

There is a ground floor WC with wash hand basin available.

There are no steps between all areas on the ground floor.

There is a ground floor and a first floor, there are  2 carpeted steps (each being 7 cm high) rising from the ground floor to the split level landing and then a further 10 steps; there is a handrail. There is no lift available.

The twin bedroom has its own en suite shower-room, no steps. The double room has its own private bathroom again with no steps. The bedrooms are not adapted for wheel chair users.

Access to the sun-deck is via the double bedrom with one 30cm step down. A second access route to the sun-deck is by way of the exterior of the property; there are ten stone steps.

Assistance dogs are welcome, there is a large garden for exercise.

Task lighting can be provided on request (angle poise lamp)

The property is well lit in all areas.
