Attractions
in North Wales
North Wales is small. But our list of attractions is big.
You can visit the locals at Conwy RSPB Nature
Reserve, or the not-so-locals at Pili
Palas. Take a train to the top of Snowdon, or
journey deep inside an electric mountain at Elidir.
Tour one of 11 National Trust
properties, Erddig comes complete with landscaped
parkland (very handy for walking off that Welsh cream tea). And
while you're outdoors, you can bike on four wheels at
Glasfryn Parc, trot on four legs at
Tal y Foel Riding Centre, or try Wales'
first bouncing pillow at the Greenwood Forest
Park.
And that's the trouble with North Wales, you see. What to do
next? Don't worry, this simple-to-use
site is packed with
attractions. So it's easy to see what makes us so
... well, attractive.
A really big attraction in the area, is the
Whitewater
Rafting at the National Whitewater
Centre.
Based near Bala, North Wales, they
developed the first commercial white water rafting
operation in the UK in 1986, and since then have grown to
become the largest and most
well-respected whitewater rafting organisation in
the UK.
Internationally recognised as a
Centre of Excellence for paddlesport, with over 20 years
experience in providing rafting at the best year-round
whitewater facility in the UK.
Set in the unspoilt natural environment of the Snowdonia
National Park, Canolfan Tryweryn will take your breath
away.
The Tryweryn is a dam released river so water is often
flowing when other British rivers are dry, thus producing a
unique year round white water venue.
Come and raft the steep
and rocky river whose continuous fast flowing
whitewater leaves no time for preparation!
After you've fallen in love
with the rafting and tackled the rapids head-on,
imagine you have the raft take away , steepen the
gradient and 'ay carumba', you're
canyoning!
You'll face exhilerating leaps, terrifying slides and climbs
to take your breath away.
A safety rope anchors you securely wherever necessary, but
it's the speed and the force of the water that dominates.
Canyoners will experience a full-on rush as big as the water
itself.
The National Whitewater Centre will be closed for whitewater
rafting from the 18th October to the 30th of November.
White water rafting resumes in December which gives you just
enough time to organise your Christmas work do with a
difference!
